Hiding email addresses on web pages
Hide your email address by replacing the . with (dot), @ with (at) or to munge the whole thing using character codes. The debate will run and run. It’s a useful trick, especially if you’re putting an email address on a website (like this one) which could get harvested by the evil bots that add your address to the spammers list for all those annoying unwanted items (use your imagination or check your inbox for details.
So to avoid having to work it out www.addressmunger.com can do it for you. Just copy and paste the code. I’ve just used it for my band, The Melancholiacs‘ website. If we start getting lots of spam I’ll know to scrub this entry. If lots of new people turn up to our gigs, I might believe in the power of social engineering.
