Slack on the net
I’m getting to grips a little more with Slackware on the laptop now. Having been away for a while I came back with it mind that I really need to get connected to a network. So I went to the book at the Slackware site and checked to see how I could do this.
Apparently netconfig would do the job. A “wizard” took me through the details and 2 minutes later I’m looking at the web, across a LAN, from my laptop.
It does make me want to know though, in KDE I find it more difficult to get to settings such as networking than when I am using Gnome on my Redhat machine. I know it’s a matter of reading more but it’s a little frustrating.
The other thing I need to do is configure the GUI to start straight away instead of typing startx after logging in at the prompt.
I’m sure these are smallish tweaks but will report back once found.
